How Equitrader Competitions Work
Performance, measurement and transparency are what Equitrader is all about and you can expect to see all three components in all of our competitions.
Equitrader runs simulated securities trading competitions supporting stocks listed on NYSE, AMEX & NASDAQ. For each competition, contestants start with a theoretical cash pool ranging
from $10,000 to $1,000,000. The competitions have a list of parameters that must be adhered to such as min/max prices, ability to use margin, volume limits and diversification
thresholds (Click here for parameter info). Securities are bought and sold for the duration of the contest.
The competitions can also vary in duration as we hold weekly, monthly and quarterly contests with different prize totals for each.
In addition to the return generated by these transactions Equitrader also computes a score for each competitor. Score is a function of a competitor's return and a portfolio's volatility.

SPECTR
Not only has Equitrader created a competition arena for traders we have also replicated this venue for autonomous trading programs.
SPECTR is our proprietary scripting language. It integrates with current and historical data to allow for the price analysis and trading decisions to be encapsulated in a program.

Capital Quest
Along with our weekly, monthly and quarterly contests we also run a semi-annual competition called the Capital Quest.
It is a measure of your cumulative performance across the weekly, monthly and quarterly contests that make up the Capital Quest.
